What should I major in when I go to college next year?

I hope to become a mission specialist, a position in the Space Shuttle (mission specialists are those who actually conduct experiments and perform "space walks" * cough * EVA * cough *), which requires a degree in any area of any of the mathematics, engineering, a biological or physical science. I am very interested in science, but I have no idea what to study! What is something that can be important in that, while good to go into space, still leaves much open door If you decide against becoming an astronaut or unable to fulfill my dream? I need help! Thank you very much! ^ _ ^

Physics would be a degree in general. For something a bit more specialized, go for aerospace engineering. Hope this helps. All the best in your studies!
