I hunt with dogs! What is better radio telemetry or GPS tracking collars?
I've never owned tracking collars, but would like I can make sure my puppies are not going near a road or pick up at the end of a hunt. He used radio tracking with friends is never used GPS. Gps sounds much better and cost the same, but my concern is battery life. The Garmin astro gives an autonomy of 22 hours, but am not sure whether that is the unit hand or the collar. My radio collar provides friends week thanks to new technology battery signal. Does anyone have experience with both? is a large piece of $ To not be sure ..
No matter what you decide, make sure that the time factor and its ability to impact satellite reception for GPS. Clear day not a problem. Snow? The response does not fully, but I hope that helps.
