Will the 3M adhesive on my Gps Support coming from my desktop?

I received a new Nextar GPS for Christmas. I also had a new VW Jetta a few months ago. I attach the Gps Holder on my dash. It comes with a keyboard that has a 3M sticky back support. Has anyone had luck with this adhesive is behind the line?

yes ... the gray stufff it does, the white foam stuff does not.
