How does the Internet on a laptop / netbook?

I want to get a netbook. I have really have no idea of how the Internet works (I only know what I use.) I need to have internet in the netbook I want!

You can connect to the Internet via a wireless connection (WLAN) or a cable connection directly to the router (LAN). When the laptop can usually go directly into the control panel and select Network Properties and configure a wireless or cable connection from there. Sorry to be so vague, but assuming you have used / connected to the Internet via a desktop PC normal, its exactly the same reality. Some networks have password encryption (if you do not know your network key is a good idea to contact Internet service provider) but that's really all you have to watch out. Trust me once you get around with it a bit with it you'll wonder how you so confused with it before! Hope this helped!
