Yamaha FJR1300 - XDECTM ECU - China CRB-100 Testbed

History

The FJR1300 was introduced in Europe in 2001 before coming to North America in 2002, with the model designation in 2003, and is offered in a non-ABS version only. Motorcyclist magazine named the motorcycle model of the Year in 2003. There 298 mm front brake discs. Apparently, in Europe in several colors: silver, blue, black and red.

The 2004 European model came in a range of colors, including Silver Storm. The 2004 North American models included a non-ABS version with traditional calipers anodized blue color and a new ABS version. Both were Cerulean Silver. Other improvements include an upgrade of the types of suspension, 320 mm front brake discs, and a fairing pocket for small items.

The 2005 model year in North America remained unchanged with no structure-ABS and ABS model in the Galaxy blue.

In 2006, the U.S. and the rest of the year synchronized global model and design has significantly changed including trailing arm changes, radiator curve, instrumentation changes, upgraded alternator and significant attention to airflow changes from heat issues in previous years. In response to these complaints, Yamaha added several adjustable vents the FJR1300, which allows the pilot to direct air or body. The basis of the 2006 model has ABS brakes FJR1300A linked and dark blue metallic, while the model Cerulean silver FJR1300A has a semi-automatic transmission. The AE / AS model has YCCS, or Yamaha Chip Control Shift. The pilot may use the standard shifter standing without the clutch lever, or the change through a shift lever style mountain bike on the left bar. The AE model continues in production until 2008.

For 2008, some minor changes were introduced, including an update on issues related to the elevation motor control unit and throttle "feel", in particular to improve the low speed on / off throttle transitions. Ad colors in Europe are: Silver (Silver Tech), Black (Midnight Black) and graphite. 2008 also sees minor changes in the ABS system.

Design

Motor

The FJR1300 has a Transversely mounted 1298 cc inline-four engine with four valves per cylinder.

Transmission

The FJR1300 use a manual gearbox five-speed close ratio gears. FJR1300AE/AS model has a semi-automatic transmission that Yamaha calls YCC-S (Yamaha Chip Control + Shift). This system is a sequential manual gearbox with a five-speed computer-controlled clutch which dispenses with the conventional clutch lever. These models have no lever bar on the left and instead of having a style shifter mountain bike operated with the thumb and index finger. Gear changes are made in about 0.2 seconds. The conventional foot lever can be used simultaneously. The standard gearbox is also unconventional in that it is neutral in the lower end range. The ECU automatically controls the automated clutch and ignition timing to ensure smooth shifting of gears and the clutch in neutral. Stalling the engine is not possible.

Final drive is through the axis, contained in the swingarm, monoshock has adjustable suspension distance of two pre-load adjustable.

Chassis

The framework of the FJR1300 is a dual-beam design made of aluminum alloy, the engine is a full member said.

Electrical System

The FJR1300 has a standard 12-volt electrical system with a fused cigarette lighter style accessory connector in the glove left central locking. The U.S. 2003 model not have a glove box or electrical outlet; 2004 model year and 2005 do not include the power supply.

Other features

The FJR1300 has a fitted electric screen controlled by a switch on the handlebar. By default, the shield returns to its lower when the key is off, but some drivers choose to disable the function "return." A number of new features were added to from model year 2006, including an air flow adjustable driver. AE models feature heated grips with adjustable velocity sensitivity. The handlebar is adjustable, 3 position, and the seat can be adjusted to high or low, with about an inch between the positions. side locking saddlebags are standard and each have a helmet. Options include: protective fairing, bigger screen, color-coded top box.

Police Models

In the UK, the FJR1300 has replaced the Honda ST1300 and the bike patrol with several police forces, following the withdrawal of Honda ST1300 Pan-European due to concerns about high-speed handling.

Yamaha FJR 1300 is the patrol vehicle used by police in Trinidad and Tobago, including units the convoy of President and Prime Minister.
